Strategic Planning
We're Seeking Your
Input
Next week, the Ten Oaks Project will be
launching a community-wide consultation as part of our process
to update our strategic plan and identify future directions
and priorities. Information gathered through this short survey
will help guide our work and assist us in creating a map to
lead the Ten Oaks Project over the next five years.
We're asking youth, parents, families, service
providers, members of the LGBTQ community and allies to
provide us with feedback.
Please visit our
website at www.tenoaksproject.org to complete a survey
or contact us at 613.742.5944 or info@tenoaksproject.org to receive yours by
mail.

Ten Oaks
Project
Introducing our Newest Board
Member
Mark
Schaan has come a long way to become the Treasurer of the Ten
Oaks Project. Before starting his volunteer stint with
TOP in May, Mark had lived in the United Kingdom where he
pursued graduate studies focussing on policy development and
provincial social assistance regimes, while also
overseeing the residential program at a College.
It's true, Mark wasn't lured to Ottawa purely by the Ten
Oaks Project, as he does have to devote some small bits
of his time to his job developing and
assessing policy for Human Resources and Social
Development Canada.
Originally from Winnipeg, Mark's
varied life has included time as a restaurant critic
(where he only received a small amount of hate mail), far
too many musical theatre performances, a fondness
for the colour purple, and a slight obsession with Canadian
literature.
We're Launching A New
Website
You may have noticed something missing
over the past month. That would be our website.
Our website disappeared from the internet in late-April 2007
and we've had a temporary page posted ever since.
This
month, we'll be bouncing back with a new, improved, brighter
and shiner website. We've been hard at work developing
this new site and we'll let you know once it's ready to
launch. Keep your eyes peeled for this exciting
development and check back with us often at
www.tenoaksproject.org.
Still Searching for a New
Board Member
It will soon be time to begin
planning for the 2008 Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser. This past
March, at our 3rd annual event, we hosted our most successful
Bowl-A-Thon yet which raised over $18,000. We're looking
for a dedicated and energetic individual to join our Board to
lead the organizing for the 2008 event.
If you, or someone you know, has
experience in organizing events, negotiating sponsorships and
donations and leadership skills, please
contact us for a nominations
package.

Spring Donor
Campaign
In early May, we launched our 2007
Spring Donor Campaign. With your help, we've raised over
$2,500 to date! Each year, we connect with our donors in
the spring and send them by mail a special update on all of
the previous year's activities.
If you haven't yet made
a contribution to support us in 2007, now is the time to do
so. Please
visit CanadaHelps.org to make
your tax-deductible donation today or download our donation form
(available in PDF format).
Raptors
FoundationThe Raptors Foundation (Toronto) has announced
that they'll be supporting us in 2007 through their granting
program. The Raptors Foundation, the charitable arm of the
Toronto Raptors Basketball Club, strives to lift spirits and
change lives for young people by supporting local and
provincial organizations that provide recreational,
educational and other youth-oriented
activities. | |
