Picture Yourself as Part of Our Story
2008 Spring Donor Campaignsend a kid to camp

At Camp Ten Oaks, kids spend the week focused on being kids.  Camp is also a place where our campers can meet and identify with others who share their experiences.  It's a place where they begin to build a community of their own.

To ensure that all kids can have a camp experience, Camp Ten Oaks is offered on a pay-what-you-can fee.  While it costs $600 for a camper to attend our one-week program, the majority of our parents or guardians are able to afford $75 - $150 per child.

It is for this reason that we ask for your support to help make camp accessible to all.  Your donation is an investment - in our kids, our families and our community.  Help us connect children and youth from LGBTQ families and LGBTQ youth and give them a summer experience they'll never forget.

If you haven't yet made a donation to support us this year, there's no time like now. Find out how you can make yourself a part of our story when you make an investment in Camp Ten Oaks.  Make a tax deductible donation by mail or visit CanadaHelps.org today.

2007 Annual Report

Our 2007 Annual Report is now available on our website.

We're proud to share with you in the following pages what was made possible through the combined efforts of our dedicated Board of Directors, volunteer camp staff, and project volunteers.  Lending their diverse skills and experiences to the Ten Oaks Project, our volunteers invested more than 6573 hours in 2007 into growing this organization and delivering programs to the children and youth of the LGBTQ community. This gift of time would approximately amount to the work of 2.5 full-time staff members.

Youth Leadership Camp - Ottawa 2009
Fyrefly
The Ten Oaks Project is growing! We are pleased to announce that we are in the early stages of developing a leadership camp for youth of LGBTQ communities, ages 16-24, which we hope to launch in Ottawa in 2009.

The model for the camp will be based on the ground-breaking programming done at Camp fYrefly at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. We're working collaboratively on this project with the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa, National Capital Region YMCA-YWCA and drawing on the expertise of the GLBTTQ Youth Service Providers Network.

Stay tuned for program developments and the launch of our Youth Advisory Committee with our forthcoming call for applications.

Camp fYrefly in Edmonton, Alberta is now accepting applications for its summer 2008 program.  The deadline is May 23, 2008.
