Camp Ten Oaks
2008
Another Great Camp Season
Comes to a
CloseWith 58 enthusiastic
campers and 26 dedicated volunteer staff members, our
fourth season at Camp Ten Oaks was a
testament to the overwhelming support of communities across
Ontario in growing our program. This year's staff
objective was to create intentional magic in every aspect of
our program and, like no year before it, this season was one
of enchantment and learning for our campers. We offer
our deepest appreciation to you for supporting us in inspiring
our campers to appreciate the world around them and change it
one camp song at a time.
Camp Ten Oaks in
the News Capital Xtra Thanks to
Ottawa's very own Capital Xtra, we're able to share with you a
fabulous photo essay from camp. From bunk time and speed cup
stacking to round-point ping pong and launching into the lake,
photographer Paul Galipeau captured the essence of Camp Ten
Oaks - all the fun that is had in a safe space where kids can
be themselves. You can check out all
the action here.
CTV Ottawa Camp Ten
Oaks was also visited by CTV Ottawa who spent some time
getting to know our campers. This clip was aired
on August 20, 2008. Sneak Peak of Camp Ten Oaks

you up to date on the project and officially introduce you to
our YAC team: Curtis Laurin, Kayla Miller, Katelyn
Klisowsky, Julia Cieslukowska, Michael Wiseman, Danielle
Sutherland, and Eva Comeau. The YAC is meeting later
this month for their first 1/2 day planning retreat.
Youth Advisory Committee -
Looking for One More Youth In September, we'll
announce all the members of our Youth Advisory Committee but
we're still looking for one more youth to ensure we can
reflect the full diversity of the queer community here in the
National Capital Region. Applications from trans-identified or
male-identified youth are particularly encouraged. If you're a
youth aged 16-24 or know of an awesome one, please contact
Sonja Prakash at sonja@tenoaksproject.org.
