Sonja has over eight years experience working in the not-for-profit sector. Her experience has come from past work as a Street Outreach/Life Skills Worker, Youth Coordinator, and Group Facilitator with various social service agencies.

Her skills have grown to include facilitating support, outreach and life skills programming to street involved individuals in the community, offering groups, presentations and trainings for all ages, and facilitating fun and engaging educational and social justice programming for youth and their families.  She brings a solid belief in structural social work to the table - mainly that social problems can be linked back to fundamental inequalities in social, political and economic structures within our society.

Most recently, Sonja joined the Youth Services Bureau as an HIV/AIDS Educator.  She is a founding member of the Ten Oaks Project Board of Directors and has worked at Camp Ten Oaks and Rainbow Families as a volunteer staff member.

Sonja holds an Hounours Bachelor of Social Work (Carleton University, 2003).
