Shaping Parenthood - Ten Oaks Project

Shaping Parenthood

After months of dreaming, planning, and collecting feedback from our communities, we are partnering with Kind and launching a new project called Shaping Parenthood, a discussion group for 2SLGBTQ+ communities in Ottawa to explore and reflect on the possibilities, challenges, and appreciation of queering family-making and child-raising!

Our hope is to support reflection and connection to resources for both the planning (“how to…”) and puzzling (“how come…”) aspects of parenting and building family which reflects people’s values while exploring the intersections of parenting and social justice.

On the second Wednesday of each month, Shaping Parenthood will be meeting at 25One Community (251 Bank Street, Floor 2, Ottawa, ON) to talk, connect, share, and learn about a specific topic related to shaping 2SLGBTQ+ families. Unless otherwise specified, meetings are open to everyone and run from 6:30-8:30 PM.
