How to volunteer at camp
Camp Ten Oaks is staffed by an amazing team of volunteers. We look for volunteers who have extensive experience working with children and youth both in and outside of camp settings, specialized skills to enhance the programming offered at camp, and who are committed to working from social justice principles. We also want people who are camper-centred, supportive, enthusiastic, nurturing, respectful, dynamic, creative and fun-loving!
All volunteers must participate in a mandatory staff orientation held at camp (May 12-14, 2017) and be available to work at camp (July 28 – August 6, 2017).
We are currently looking for volunteers for Camp Ten Oaks 2017! We are looking to fill the following positions:
- Assistant Director of Programming
- Healthcare Coordinator
- Volunteer Support Specialist
- Oak Tree Program Coordinators
- Outdoor Adventure Coordinator
- Waterfront Programmers
- Camp Counsellors
- Camp Counsellors with Lifeguarding Qualifications (NLS)
- Floaters Extraordinaire
- Camper Specialists

Our staff-to-camper ratio is a minimum of 1:3. Every member of the staff team at Camp Ten Oaks applies to have this volunteer opportunity. All staff must successfully complete an interview process, reference checks and a police background check. Our staff also participate in a mandatory weekend-long orientation and training.
